Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Keto Club(“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use our website and app. We are committed to handling your data lawfully, transparently and only for the purposes set out below. This policy is written to be consistent with the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Who we are

Keto Club is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. If you have any questions or wish to exercise your rights, contact us at hello@ketoclub.app.

What data we collect

  • Account data — your email address and authentication details when you create an account.
  • Health and activity data — the food, fasting and workout information you choose to log, along with goals and preferences you set.
  • Newsletter data — your email address and consent record if you subscribe to our newsletter or request a free guide.
  • Technical data — limited information such as device type, browser and anonymised usage analytics, plus any UTM campaign parameters in the link you arrived from.

How we use your data

We use your data to provide and improve the Keto Club service: to run your account, generate your adaptive plan, track your progress, respond to enquiries, and — where you have consented — to send you newsletters and free guides. We rely on the lawful bases of contract (to provide the service you signed up for), consent (for marketing emails), and legitimate interests (to keep the service secure and improve it).

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored and processed using Google’s Firebase platform (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore), provided by Google LLC, acting as our data processor. Google maintains industry-standard security and may process data on servers located outside your country; where personal data is transferred internationally, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Newsletter consent and unsubscribing

We only add you to our newsletter when you provide your email with consent — for example, by submitting one of our sign-up forms. We record that consent together with your email. You can withdraw consent and unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send, or by emailing us at hello@ketoclub.app. Unsubscribing does not affect your account.

Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the site is used through privacy-respecting analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the site works.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and POPIA you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO); in South Africa, the Information Regulator. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@ketoclub.app.

Data retention

We keep your personal data only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, and thereafter only as long as required to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time.

Children

Keto Club is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above and, where the changes are significant, take reasonable steps to let you know.
